15.12.11 At a meeting held in St Augustine's Hall a charitable trust - "St Augustine's Gateway Trust" - was formally constituted to administer the premises at 52 St Augustine's Street, Norwich as a community space. The Trust's charitable purposes are: "To support the well-being of people who live or work in the wider St Augustine's area of Norwich by providing a community space, whilst promoting the regeneration of the area." The Trust currently has seven trustees: Alan Camina, Margaret Camina, Jeremy Hall, Stuart McLaren, Nicholas Vesey, Jason Wray and Kate Webster. They will remain trustees until the AGM, which will be held on a date to be decided within the next 12 months, when all trustees must resign and stand for re-election by the membership if they so wish.
25.11.11 Meeting at BHA’s Carrow Road office with Andrew Savage, Director of Development at BHA. Attending from St Augustine’s community: Alan Camina, Margaret Camina and Stuart McLaren. Mr Savage offered to let 52 St Augustine’s Street to a St Augustine’s-based charitable trust (name, constitution and composition of board of trustees to be decided) to run a non-profit-making amenity for the benefit of the local community at a nominal rent for a period of 12 months. This arrangement to be reviewed by both parties at the end of the 12-month period. Once BHA received a commitment in writing from the trust it would schedule a programme of renovations to the premises.
24.11.11 At a meeting of St Augustine’s Community Together Residents’ Association the topic of opening a community office/shop in St Augustine’s Street was debated. A questionnaire was given to members attending asking them to indicate their top six preferences for services to be offered by such an amenity, as well as their own suggestions (link to questionnaire).
10.11.11 Second inspection of Fran’s Pantry. Andy Forder opened up the premises from 10.30 a.m. to 11. 30 a.m. Visitors included Stuart McLaren, Alan Camina, Margaret Camina, Nick Hall (local resident and fund-raiser for Cruse Bereavement Trust), Jeremy Hall, Simeon Jackson, Lester Fish (Coleman Opticians) and Kate Webster and Jason Wray (Junk & Gems).

2.11.11 Alan Camina and Stuart McLaren are shown the interior of 52 St Augustine’s Street by BHA’s Surveyor, Andy Forder. Alan Camina emails BHA to confirm that there is interest in setting up a local charitable trust that will act as leaseholders of the premises but that essential renovation work will need to be carried to make it safe and useable.
31.10.11 Lady Hollis confirms to Alan Camina that BHA are happy for a local charitable trust to take over the lease of 52 St Augustine’s Street for a nominal rent.
26.10.11 Walkabout of St Augustine’s Street organised and led by Transition Norwich’s Simeon Jackson. Professor Alan Camina (local resident and Ketts Credit Union (hereafter “KCU”) Treasurer) offers to speak to Baroness Hollis of Heigham, Chair of the Governing Board of Broadland Housing Association (hereafter “BHA”) about an unoccupied BHA-owned premises formerly known as Fran’s Pantry located at 52 St Augustine’s Street, Norwich.
